
The southbound West Shore Boulevard exit is closed along with multiple lanes of traffic.
TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa police are asking drivers to avoid a portion of southbound Interstate 275 in the Westshore area after a truck spilled roofing materials on the road Monday morning.
The crash happened on I-275, north of the West Shore Boulevard exit.
Police say the truck was involved in a crash with multiple other cars, causing it to flip and spill roofing materials on the interstate.
Only one southbound lane of traffic is open. The southbound West Shore Boulevard exit is also closed.
Only minor injuries were reported.
Police did not say what caused the crash but expect it to cause major delays for morning commuters. Drivers are urged to find alternate routes.
