Got a call about a leaking roof over a porch area that has foam core metal panels. At some point someone thought it was a good idea to shoot shingles right through this Porch. It was also pretty clear that someone had just recently done a repair on this. Whoever did the repair did not get the leak stopped and is still leaking. This roof is pretty old and in my opinion should have just been replaced. Let me know your thoughts down below. I’m 51 years old and I started roofing in 1988ish and worked for several companies and did my own side job gigs and I never really critically considered things like surface tension and capillary action to realize that I was taught the wrong way to do things. I’ve learned more about roofing and understand not only the right way, but WHY, from your videos in just a few years than I have my entire life. MY BIGGEST REGRET IS THAT I UNINTENTIONALLY DID POOR QUALITY INSTALLS FOR PEOPLE AND I KNOW, OF A CERTAINTY THAT THERE’S NO WAY MY WORK COULD’VE WITHSTOOD VERY MANY HEAVY RAINSTORMS, SNOWSTORMS OR HIGH WINDS.
IT REPENTETH ME OF MY FOLLY AND IGNORANCE.
